The Original, badly updated

This is a Fiat X1/9. It's a mid-engined car that's tiny, slow and handles like it's on rails. It has two seats and next to no space for anything else. It's sole purpose it to be a wedge-shaped sports car.


The original Bertone-designed X1/9

This is a concept for a Fiat X1/99. Unlike a real X1/9, this one is front wheel drive, has seats for 4 and seems to be intended to be some sort of Italian Scion tC (yes, that's the correct case).

The new Instituto Europeo di Design X1/99

Now, while I appreciate production realities, is there any point in bringing back a semi-iconic sports car if it's not going to follow the original concept?
