In-car monitoring of young drivers

MSNBC reports on a technology that's being used to monitor teenage drivers. Needless to say, the teenager in question is not impresed:

"My friends," he said, turning his car toward home, "think it's whack."

NPR has a story on a similar technology that uses cameras to monitor the drivers.

Is it me, or is this slope getting steeper and more slippery?
