Breaching experiments elaborate the social circumstances that innovative technologies turn upon or rely and, in this case, have informed the development of mobile, wireless, and GPS applications for real world use. This configuration of the relationship between ethnography and design leads to a research and development model where technology becomes a vehicle for social research and the results of that research in turn, and demonstrably, propel innovation and design.Andy Crabtree (2004) Design in the absence of practice: reaching experiments.
